Abstract:
|
Staphylococcus aurues is a commensal in humans, found in the axillae, the inguinal, the perineal areas and the anterior nares. This organism however can become problematic when disseminated to sterile body sites. Here infection can be caused by either tissue invasion or toxin production. This organism has long been recognized as an important pathogen in human infection associated with a wide spectrum of diseases including skin and soft tissue, systemic infections and exotoxin related diseases.
